Disappeared

When on December, 21st 2012, exactly at 11:18 GMT about 6 million people disappeared without a trace, almost no one was interested at first. They were poor devils from Central America's slums, peasants from far away villages, just natives. Who was bothered in Mexico, if the last descendants of the old culture of the Maya weren't there anymore? Only in Guatemala there was some unrest after 40 % of the population went missing.
They had cleaned up their things and already packed the meager belongings, when they all sat down simultanely on that day and waited.
Then they vanished.
Some of them left short messages, that amounted to something like: »So long, and thanks for nothing!«
